Math Formulas app good for
As a math teacher, it is nice to have a quick reference to so many formulas that you need to remember for calculus problems and beyond.
Im currently enrolled in a calculus course and this app helps a ton when Im doing homework!
This application is easy to use and provides a great database of useful formulas that you will experience at all levels. From the most basic algebra to multivariable calculus.
The add formula is also a great tool where you can record your own formulas and thereoms or make your own creation to impress your professor or that cutie sitting next to you.
Some bad moments
There is no instruction on how to use this program eventho it seems simple. I still cant figure out how to get the math symbols or math functions to appear when I want to add my formulas. The sample screenshots of the function keys does not appear in the program when inputing your formula. It is pretty useless unless they fix it.... Good idea but lacking in execution.
This app doesnt have that many formulas. It is advertised to have Math Formulas (hence the name,) but most of them are calculus formulas. There arent any algebra formulas! Plus, the formulas are only images, and the font in the images changes depending on the set of formulas. Also, if you want to add a new formula, it can freeze after typing in the name and selecting it. The interface to do so has small buttons and is difficult to use. There are much better apps out there!
Developers for Gods sake, why have you complicated such a potentially wonderful app to the point that has rendered it useless?! Gentlemen, before putting this out to be sold to the public, you should have gotten a second and third and many opinions on it to know if it can be used. It is a wonderful idea but such a poor execution of it that it is a real shame.
How is it possible that you thought of and designed the program for touching the screen to input formula items given the size of the font we are dealing with here? How can you think that the fingertip of a person is EVER going to be accurate enough to locate the correct location on a numerator, or an exponent, or a subscript, or even right next to the main item, given the size of the font??!! much less given the size of a single pixel??!!
Its very simple guys, just do it the way a normal computer or calculator does it - with a flashing cursor that shifts to the next location once one is filled. This way one knows whether he/she is about to input an exponent, or subscript, or numerator, or denominator, or limits on a sum sign or integral sign, etc. But whats even more crazy is that you guys fit everything thats needed for math on the edges of one single screen!! And on the top there is a scroll bar that shifts with left/right arrows for the many variables that are needed, so one needs to go back and forth!! Guys, just make buttons that take you to a seperate screen for a given type of input. A seperate screen for letters, a seperate screen for numbers, for symbols, etc. And to top it off, the program has so many bugs to it, that even if the design had been well done, and even if the fingertip was a usable tool for this, it would still be useless cuz the bugs screw everything up.
It is a wonderful idea, so much so that as soon as i saw it before buying it, I immediately said "finally, somebody that thought of this!". But much to my dismay, once downloaded and installed, it was useless. Developers PLEASE fix this app to make it useful. It needs a total rehaul, a total change of system. Use cursors please, and designate a certain amount of space between items in proportion to their size etc. Such a great idea for such poor execution of it my God. I gaurantee it to you that people will buy this app if you change it, for it is a VERY useful app specially to students, which are the iPhone and iPOD touches largest purchasing audience. It would be worth even a lot more money if this be done, but now I am sorry to say, it is not even worth it for free.
I purchased this app and realised that many of teh formulas seemed to contradit what i had been taught in class. When i checked my notes and books i realized that they were inacurrately defined....... For example the cos(-1)x. Most seem to be acurate though so if you are only using it for occasional reference it should be ok
Has potential and I would love a formula creator/editor. Dont give up dev, give us updates. Bigger buttons, more operators, and larger fonts.
There are no intructions for how to use this. Everytime I click on a button it creates an annoying pipe command cursor. I cant read that. It does not do what it claims to do.
